About Me

B. Johansson
I am a passionate design engineer and creative technologist specializing in the intersection of digital creativity, graphic design, and product innovation. With a strong foundation in both visual storytelling and technical execution, I bring ideas to life through compelling design and seamless user experiences. My work bridges the gap between aesthetics and functionality, ensuring that every project is not only visually striking but also intuitively engineered.

Beyond traditional design, I am well-versed in creative coding and front-end development, enabling me to craft interactive, dynamic digital experiences that push the boundaries of conventional design. This unique blend of skills allows me to approach challenges with a holistic mindset, combining creativity with technical precision to deliver solutions that are as innovative as they are effective. Whether working on branding, product interfaces, or experimental digital projects, I thrive on exploring new technologies and creative techniques to elevate the impact of my work.

As a design engineer, I am committed to continuous learning and collaboration, always seeking to expand my toolkit and partner with forward-thinking teams and clients. My goal is to create meaningful, user-centered designs that inspire and engage, while leveraging the power of technology to transform ideas into reality.

About the Work

My portfolio brings together robust front-end engineering with experimental motion design, demonstrating how code and creativity intersect.

React

This website is a custom creation made with React & Next.js and a basic Firebase backend.

three.js

All of my typographic motion pieces and the generative animations are made with three.js.

Flutter

BIG-ASS MESSAGE is made with Flutter and Firestore. The previous iteration was made with Svelte and MySQL. Before that it was jQuery, and originally it was made with Flash.

Swift

All screen savers are developed with Swift in XCode. As was the B.A.M. app, while it lasted.

Processing

Most of the artwork for FRAMED was made with Processing. Except for Interaction of Color 01 & 02 which were made with openFrameworks.
